State Police Make Arrest Following Stabbing in East Capitol Park

State Police have arrested a Rensselaer man following a stabbing at East Capitol Park in Albany.

Troopers say 37-year-old Alexander Contompasis attacked two men Wednesday, sending both victims to the hospital. The incident happened during a dispute between pro-Trump protesters and counter-protesters who had gathered outside the Capitol. Contompasis is facing several charges including assault and was sent to the Albany County Jail.
