The Capital Region economy is about to get a massive boost thanks to GlobalFoundries.

It was announced Monday that the company's headquarters is moving from California to its campus in Malta, the home of its Fab Eight computer chip plant. The tech company has already relocated several jobs to the area and that process is expected to continue. Last month, CEO Tom Caulfield said GlobalFoundries is interested in building another manufacturing facility in the area, but that will depend on funding.
