Gloversville police believe a stabbing that left a man dead wasn't a random act of violence.

The victim was found Saturday night when officers responded to a call at a warehouse building on East Tenth Street. The man, whose name hasn't been released, was rushed to a nearby hospital but couldn't be saved. Police searched the surrounding area for a possible suspect but didn't make an arrest. They say the victim likely knew their attacker and are asking anyone with information to call them. Meanwhile, Schenectady police have made an arrest following a stabbing outside of the Summit Towers apartment building on Albany Street. They say 60-year-old Steven Charlotten assaulted the 70-year-old victim Saturday night, causing him to suffer a non-life threatening chest injury. Charlotten was taken into custody at the scene and is facing a felony assault charge. Police say the stabbing was a result of an argument between the two men.
