Renters across New York are in line to get a bit more relief after the state Legislature votes to extend an eviction moratorium until August 31st.
The measure has been in place for months and allows people who have been affected financially by the COVID-19 crisis to hold off on paying their rent without the threat of being evicted. Landlords have been critical of the moratorium, saying they're having a tough time paying their bills due to a lack of income. The legislation was sent to Governor Cuomo's desk after being passed.
