Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's bill aimed at preventing sexual assault in the military is drawing bipartisan support.
The New York Democrat told NBC News they now have 61 co-sponsors to put the bill over the filibuster threshold. Gillibrand explained she's been working to address military reform since 2013 and this "vindicates years of work to secure justice for military survivors." The measure would move cases out of the military chain of command to trained military prosecutors.
