Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is joining a growing number of lawmakers in calling for the border between the United States and Canada to be reopened.
The Republican, who represents the 21st Congressional District, says she and colleagues believe the Canadian government isn't doing enough to make that happen. The border has been closed since March 2020 in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he'll only act in the best interests of his fellow citizens and won't react to pressure from other countries.
