Thoroughbred trainer Bob Baffert is suing the New York Racing Association after he was banned from competition.
The lawsuit argues the NYRA lacks the basis to suspend him, since he's involved in an ongoing investigation. Baffert was first banned by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, after his Kentucky Derby winning horse Medina Spirit tested positive for a banned steroid. He wants access to the sample that tested positive, as he argues it came from a topical ointment, and not an injection.
