NYSID President & CEO, Maureen O'Brien

Maureen E. O'Brien has been President and CEO of the New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) since 2018.

The organization works with approximately 135 agencies around the state to assist with securing state contracts for goods and services in which individuals with disabilities are employed.

Since 1975 NYSID's highest priorities are meeting procurement needs and creating meaningful employment for individuals with disabilities.

O'Brien says that NYSID creates about 6,000 jobs annually and during the COVID-19 pandemic, about half of them became janitorial and sanitation services for public transportation and vaccine sites became critical jobs for those with disabilities.
