Intel Looking to Buy Global Foundries

Intel To Report Quarterly Earnings

There are reports that chip maker Intel is looking to buy Global Foundries. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Intel wants to 'turbocharge' their chip production and has valued Global Foundries at 30 billion dollars. A spokesperson for Global Foundries denies the company is in discussions with Intel. Global Foundries is one of the largest employers in the Capital Region, with about three thousand people who work at their Malta campus.
