Fans of the Tri-City ValleyCats will get to see a baseball legend up close later this month.
The team says Lou Piniella will be throwing out the first pitch at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy on Saturday, August 14th. The 77-year-old played during 18 seasons in the majors and spent his last 11 as a member of the New York Yankees. He's also a three-time manager of the year and his 1,835 victories during a 23-year span put him in 16th place on MLB's all-time list.
