The Albany Empire are the 2021 NAL champions. The arena football team took the title in the championship game Saturday night at the Times Union Center against the Columbus Lions, 79-62. The game MVP was Malachi Jones, with 5 touchdowns. In 2019 the Empire won the AFL championship, but the league later shut down. This was the Empire's first year in the National Arena League.
