The new governor of New York is giving a subtle nod to the women's suffrage movement.
At her afternoon swearing in ceremony Tuesday, Governor Kathy Hochul wore an all-white dress, as did her daughter and daughter-in-law. In addition, Hochul mentioned Judge DiFiore, who swore her into office, donned a robe that was previously worn by Judith Kaye, the first woman to serve as a judge on the state court of appeals. In addition, according to the New York Times, Hochul called on women reporters to ask the first three questions.
