For the first time since late August, the Empire State has a lieutenant governor in office.

Brian Benjamin, who is now a former State Senator, was officially sworn-in Thursday as a member of Governor Hochul's administration. Hochul herself had the job until a few weeks ago, when she left to take over for former Governor Andrew Cuomo. Benjamin, a New York City native, promised that he'll focus on many important issues including getting people vaccinated against COVID-19 and making sure landlords and renters get the financial assistance needed to help them recover from the pandemic.
