After disappointing attendance numbers this year, the New York State fair will return to its traditional schedule next year.
It was announced on Thursday that the 2022 fair will run for 13 days from Wednesday, August 24th until Monday, September 5th. Attendance failed to hit the 800,000 mark this year even though the 18-day event was the longest in the history of the fair. The fair director said Thursday that he believes fewer days will allow organizers to both boost programming for fairgoers and provide increased support to vendors.
