Governor Hochul announcing the state's fifth free fishing day of the year will be held Saturday, September 25th. Both New York Residents and visitors will be permitted to fish without being required to have a fishing license, though all other regulations remain in place. The sixth and final free fishing day of the year will be on Veteran's Day, November 11th. The DEC provides a detailed list of places to fish throughout the state on its website.
