Governor Hochul has revealed who will be leading the New York State Department of Health into the future.
The governor has chosen former New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene commissioner Doctor Mary Bassett to replace Doctor Howard Zucker who is leaving the position. Bassett will officially take over the department on December 1st. In a statement, Bassett said she's honored to have been picked by the governor for this job and that she's looking forward to leading the department at this pivotal time.
