Schenectady police say an alleged threat made against students and staff at Oneida Middle School has been deemed not credible.
Over the weekend, a message warning about shootings at the school was widely shared on social media but officials say an investigation revealed the message was intended to be a prank. Since there are no safety concerns the school will be open Monday as scheduled. A district spokesperson is asking parents to keep a close eye on their child's social media activity and remind them that pranks can have serious consequences.
