New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is a step closer to jumping into the race for New York governor.

According to state records, Williams filed paperwork to create a campaign committee to run for governor. Back on September 28th, Williams tweeted he was exploring the idea. As of now, he'd be challenging current Governor Hochul in the Democratic primary with more candidates expected to jump into the race.
