Update 6:17am: Police have arrested 39 year old Sean Pacheco of Watervliet in connection with the shooting. He is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
A man is dead after a shooting in Albany Sunday morning. Police were called shortly before 2am reports of shots fired in the area of Central Avenue between North Lake Avenue and Quail Street. When they arrived, 35 year old John Welcome of Albany was found outside with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to Albany Med and later pronounced dead. Police say it was not a random shooting and may have been the result of a dispute between individuals who they believe knew each other. Anyone with info is asked to contact Albany Police.
