A winter weather advisory is in effect today from 10am to 7pm Saturday for Eastern Rensselaer County, including the Rensselaer Plateau and Bennington county in Vermont. The National Weather Service says 3-8 inches could fall, with higher elevations getting 8-16 inches and wind gusts close to 40mph. Snowfall rates could reach an inch per hour in some parts this afternoon and evening, along with those strong winds visibility will very likely be impaired.
