The New York Mets can still look for a new manager even though there is now a Major League Baseball lockout.

The Yankees can also proceed in filling their coaching staff needs. The owners officially locked out players overnight after the two sides could not come up with a new labor deal. That means no trades, no free-agent signings and no players allowed inside club facilities. Newly acquired Mets pitcher Max Scherzer is a member of the Players Association's executive subcommittee.
