With the rapid spread of COVID-19 continuing across New York, Governor Hochul says the state is considering a COVID-19 booster shot mandate for health care employees.

Under the current mandate, people who work at hospitals, nursing homes and other health care facilities were required to have at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine by late September, unless they had a medical exemption. The governor said Wednesday any new regulations would be revealed shortly. Hochul's announcement came on the same day her office announced a record-high of nearly 29,000 new COVID-19 cases.
