The American Red Cross is helping out 14 people who were affected by two separate fires in the area over the weekend.
The fires happened on Saturday at an apartment building on Albany Street in Schenectady and a building on Hudson River Road in Waterford. A woman and firefighter were hurt in the Schenectady fire but there's no word if anyone was injured in Waterford. The Red Cross is looking for more volunteers to respond to emergencies in the area and anyone interested in signing up can visit redcross.org/volunteer.
