Branches covered with ice after freezing rain. Sparkling ice covered everything after ice storm cyclone. Terrible beauty of nature concept. Winter landscape, scene, postcard. Selective focus.

It's going to be a very messy morning commute for drivers across the Capital Region as a winter storm impacts the area, and a winter storm warning remains in effect.

A wintry mix of freezing rain and snow fell during the overnight hours and precipitation is going to continue until the weather system moves out later Friday. Travelers are being urged to take their time getting to their destination and are reminded to stay out of the path of plows that are clearing roads and highways. Also, anyone who is flying out of Albany International Airport Friday should check on the status of their trip before heading to the airport.
