The Warren County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about a scam that's been targeting business owners in Lake George.
The agency says hotels have been receiving calls where scammers are reserving rooms using credit card information that hasn't been reported stolen yet. The scammer then cancels the room and asks for the refund to be wired to a different card, which allows them to steal from the people whose information was taken. Any business owner who feels they've been affected by this scam is asked to call the sheriff's office.
