Members of the New York State Domestic Terrorism task force are scheduled to meet for the very first time Wednesday.
The panel was created back in 2020 as part of that year's state budget and is composed of the State Police superintendent, the Division of Criminal Justice Services commissioner and people appointed by the governor and Legislature. The group is required to meet at least four times a year but until Wednesday has never gathered. The mission of the task force is to evaluate, examine and determine how to prevent mass shootings by domestic terrorists.
