A security guard is recovering after being shot during a robbery Saturday night.
Albany police say at about 10:00 pm., a man entered the lobby of a Motel 6 on Watervliet Avenue Extension and demanded cash. The employee handed him the money, and the suspect fled on foot. That is when the 46-year-old security guard followed the suspect, who shot him in the abdomen. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center. His injuries are non-life-threatening.
