Former Republicans and Democrats are launching a third political party. The new Forward party is being co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and former Republican Governor of New Jersey Christine Todd Whitman.
Founding members of the new party say it's aimed at millions of U.S. voters who are dismayed with what they see as a dysfunctional two-party system, and are looking for a viable alternative.
The Forward party plans on holding dozens of events this fall to roll out its platform. The official launch of the Forward party will be September 24th in Houston.
