Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer believes the CHIPS and Science Act that recently passed Congress is going to mean good things for the Capital Region.

During a visit to the area Monday, the New York Democrat continued his push to make Albany Nanotech a major hub of the country's first National Semiconductor Technology Center. Schumer also said the measure has already spurred local companies such as GlobalFoundries to add more jobs. The legislation won't officially become law until it's signed by President Biden.
