October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and free mammograms are being offered through the New York State Cancer Services Program.

The tests are available to individuals who meet age and income eligibility requirements, state residents and people who don't have health insurance. If cancer is detected, those who are eligible might be able to enroll in the Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program so they can receive Medicaid coverage during treatment. More information about this program is available by calling 1-866-442-2262.
