Members of the Rotterdam Town Board will be meeting Wednesday night to vote on a law involving chickens.
The proposal calls for some people who own property in the town to be allowed to have up to six chickens in their backyards. To qualify, a person would need to live in a single-family dwelling with at least nine-thousand square feet of lot space to ensure there's enough room for the animals. Roosters would still be banned, and the chickens would have to be maintained only for personal use. The meeting gets underway at a 7:00 pm at Rotterdam Town Hall.
