Republican Congressman Marc Molinaro has conceded defeat in the race for New York's 19th Congressional District. In a statement, Molinaro thanked his supporters and volunteers, expressing pride in the campaign they had built together. Despite the outcome not going as hoped, he pledged to continue fighting for the people of Upstate New York.

Molinaro, who began his political career as the youngest mayor in the nation when elected as Mayor of Tivoli, has had a lengthy career in public service. He has served as a New York State Assemblyman, Dutchess County Legislator, and Dutchess County Executive. According to Mid Hudson News, Molinaro and his partner were outspent by $8 million in the race, which he lost by 1%.

In his concession, Molinaro congratulated his Democratic opponent, Congressman-elect Josh Riley, on his victory. He expressed hope that Riley would listen closely to the voices of every single person who calls the district home, as they are counting on him. Cortaca Today reports that the 2024 race was a rematch from 2022, which was also a slim win for Riley.
