The reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder case of 14-year-old Samantha Humphrey has been increased to $20,000, nearly two years after her disappearance. Samantha was last seen alive on November 25, 2022, and her body was later found in the Mohawk River in Schenectady, New York, in February 2023. The case remains unsolved.

The initial reward was $10,000, but it has now been doubled thanks to a $15,000 donation from Samantha's grandfather, Louis Paravate, and $5,000 raised through a GoFundMe campaign. The family has also started distributing lawn signs featuring photos of Samantha and the reward information, in an effort to keep the case in the public eye. The signs direct tips to the district attorney’s office and the Schenectady police tips line at 518-788-6566.

According to the Daily Gazette, Samantha's father, Jeff Humphrey, said, “The lawn sign campaign will not end until there is an arrest. If the city of Schenectady is plastered front to back with Samantha’s face, so be it. That’s how it’s going to go.”

Despite the ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made in the case. Schenectady Police Lt. Ryan Macherone stated, “The investigation into the death of Samantha Humphrey remains active and ongoing. We do not have any additional updates to provide at this time.”

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Schenectady County District Attorney's Office or the Schenectady police.
