A 29-year-old man from Niskayuna, Richard I. Gordon, has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Schenectady. The incident occurred at the intersection of Union Street and Nott Street early Wednesday morning, leaving a 41-year-old woman in critical condition.
According to NEWS10, police were called to the scene at 1:18 a.m. where they found the victim lying in the middle of the road. She was immediately transported to Albany Medical Center by Mohawk Ambulance.
The Schenectady Police Department’s Traffic Division and Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office identified the vehicle involved in the incident as a 2024 Tesla, registered to an address in Niskayuna. With assistance from the Niskayuna Police Department, Gordon was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an incident with personal injury and vehicle and traffic violations.
The Times Union reports that Gordon has been issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to reappear in court next month.
