Juveniles Arrested for Vehicle Theft at Crossgates Mall

Two underage youths from Schenectady were arrested on Saturday afternoon for allegedly stealing a vehicle from the parking lot of Crossgates Mall in Guilderland, New York. The Guilderland Police Department was alerted to the theft by the vehicle's owner at around 4:13 p.m. Officers spotted the stolen vehicle on Crossgates Mall Road and attempted to stop it. However, the suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, leaving the vehicle in motion. The unattended vehicle rolled into a Guilderland police cruiser.

Despite the collision, neither vehicle was damaged and no one was injured. The suspects were apprehended after a brief foot chase. They are facing multiple felony charges, including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property. The stolen vehicle was returned to its owner, according to the Times Union.
