Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has completed his 26th consecutive annual tour of all 62 counties in New York. On Monday (December 16), Schumer marked the end of his tour in Greene County, where he announced that the Army Corps of Engineers will help preserve the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse. This visit continues a tradition Schumer began during his first Senate campaign in 1998, pledging to visit every county in the state each year.

Schumer emphasized the significance of this year's tour, highlighting landmark legislation he championed, such as the CHIPS and Science Act, which has brought billions in federal investment to New York. This legislation has spurred over $110 billion in private investment, revitalizing manufacturing in Upstate New York and creating thousands of jobs. Schumer stated to the Daily Star, "Meeting with New Yorkers from every walk of life is what inspires me every day in Washington."

The senator's efforts have also focused on infrastructure development, broadband expansion, and clean energy investments. Schumer's commitment to visiting each county has made him the first public official in New York to uphold such a promise for over two decades. He concluded his remarks by affirming his dedication to continue this tradition and his advocacy for New York.
