An investigation is underway into a three-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday (December 22) in Duanesburg, Schenectady County. The incident happened at the intersection of State Route 20 and State Route 30 around 7:11 p.m. According to the Schenectady County Sheriff's Office, a Honda Civic traveling east on Route 20 ran a red light and collided with a Honda Pilot heading north on Route 30. The impact caused the Civic to hit a Chevrolet SUV that was stopped at the traffic light.

The driver of the Civic, who was the sole occupant, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center. The driver received two tickets for unsafe speed and disobeying a traffic control device. Two passengers in the Chevrolet SUV were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the other two passengers and the driver of the Honda Pilot were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A dog named Lilo, a mix-breed with yellow and gold fur, was ejected from the Honda Civic during the crash and is currently missing. Lilo is described as skittish, without a collar, and has a grain allergy.

The Schenectady County Sheriff’s Crash Team and Criminal Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate the incident. Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the missing dog to contact Deputy Cory Wagner at 518-388-4312.
