Schenectady Man Charged After Halfmoon Shooting

A Schenectady man, Justin Wagner, 25, is facing multiple charges following a shooting incident in Halfmoon, Saratoga County. The shooting occurred on Saturday (January 4) near Route 146 and Pruyn Hill Road, outside Morris Pipe and Supply Co. According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, Wagner allegedly shot a man he knew, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Albany Medical Center.

Wagner fled the scene in a van but was apprehended by deputies on Route 146 near Moe Road, thanks to eyewitness descriptions. He has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal possession of an assault weapon, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.

The incident involved two men and a woman, and authorities are still investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting. Wagner was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and is currently held in the Saratoga County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, but police have assured that there is no danger to the public.
