A tragic accident in East Greenbush claimed the life of 72-year-old Irene Pearl from Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County. The crash occurred on Tuesday (January 28) when the vehicle, driven by her 49-year-old son, veered off Interstate 90 near Exit 9, struck a tree, and rolled over. According to State Police, Irene Pearl was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, Pearl's son, sustained a head injury and required medical attention. An eight-week-old puppy in the vehicle was also injured and later died at the East Greenbush Animal Hospital. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by State Police.
