Saratoga Springs officials have announced that Broadway will be closed from Lake Avenue to Washington Street on Saturday (February 8) for the annual Chowderfest. The street closure will last from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to ensure the safety of attendees. This decision follows a terrorist attack in New Orleans earlier this year that resulted in 14 fatalities and numerous injuries.
In response to these concerns, there will be an increased police presence during the event, which is known for drawing large crowds. The city aims to enhance security measures to prevent any potential threats.
To accommodate visitors, Discover Saratoga has arranged four free shuttles provided by Upstate Transit of Saratoga. These shuttles will run from the Saratoga Casino Hotel between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., offering convenient transportation options for attendees.
Chowderfest, now in its 26th year, is a beloved event in Saratoga Springs, attracting both locals and tourists. The festival provides an opportunity for businesses to showcase their best chowder and engage with the community.
