The Albany Public Library is set to host its first Narcan training session at the Bach Branch on New Scotland Avenue. The event will take place on Wednesday (February 11) from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and is the first in a series of monthly training sessions aimed at educating the community on how to administer Narcan, a life-saving nasal spray used to reverse opioid overdoses. Each training session lasts approximately 15 minutes and is free to attend. Participants will receive a Narcan kit upon completion of the training.
The Bach Branch, located at 455 New Scotland Avenue, is a silver LEED-certified building and serves as a community hub in the New Scotland neighborhood. The library aims to provide a welcoming environment for all community members.
For those interested in attending future sessions, a complete list of training dates and locations can be found on the Albany Public Library's events calendar.
