Schenectady police are actively seeking witnesses to a serious accident involving a pedestrian in a wheelchair that occurred on Monday night (February 17) near the intersection of Crosstown Connection and Watt Street. The incident happened around 7:30 p.m., and the victim, a 66-year-old man, was transported to Albany Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries.
According to CBS6 Albany, the driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and is cooperating with the authorities. The crash prompted the temporary closure of Crosstown Connection between Chrisler Avenue and Albany Street, as well as Exit 7 from I-890, as police continue their investigation.
The Schenectady Police Department is urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward with information. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are asking the public to avoid the area while the scene is being processed.
