Registration is now open for the 2025 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge, a major running event in Albany, New York. Scheduled for Thursday, May 15, the 3.5-mile race will start and finish on Madison Avenue at the Empire State Plaza. Participants can choose to run in person or virtually, with a registration fee of $30 for both options.
The event, organized by the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC), serves as a significant fundraiser for the club. Proceeds support various activities, including college scholarships, grants, and the Just Run® Program, which encourages children to engage in running for exercise and fun. This year, the charities of choice are Unity House and Girls on the Run Capital Region, both of which will receive donations from CDPHP and race participants. Unity House aims to enhance opportunities for children through a traveling summer camp, while Girls on the Run will expand its programming to new sites, focusing on areas with high rates of childhood diabetes.
CDPHP, the event's primary sponsor for 18 years, is also offering a training program for beginners. The 10-week program includes coaching, group runs, and a training guide, available for $50 thanks to CDPHP's support. Registration for the race closes on May 5, but may be extended if the cap is not reached.
