Siena College has announced that Al Roker, the renowned co-host of NBC's 'Today Show,' will deliver the commencement speech for the undergraduate ceremony on Sunday, May 18. The event will take place at the MVP Arena in Albany, where more than 850 students will receive their diplomas. Roker will also be awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters degree from the college.

Siena President Charles Seifert expressed enthusiasm about Roker's participation, noting his wide-ranging talents as a meteorologist, podcaster, and YouTube host. Seifert praised Roker for his commitment to excellence and his ability to connect with audiences, which aligns with Siena's mission of service to others.

Roker, who joined 'Today' in 1996, has earned accolades such as the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval and three Daytime Emmy Awards. He is also known for his charitable efforts through the 'Lend a Hand Today' initiative, which raised millions for small charities across the country.

The commencement ceremony will highlight Roker's achievements, including his record-breaking 'Rokerthon' events, where he set Guinness World Records for weather reporting.

A separate ceremony for master's degree graduates will be held at the UHY Center on the Siena campus on Saturday, May 17.
