A suspect is in custody after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop in Colonie. On Sunday morning (March 2), Albany County Sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a 2011 Nissan Sentra on Troy-Schenectady Road. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Shuaib A. Alradee from Schenectady, refused to stop and led deputies on a chase onto Interstate 87 southbound. The pursuit ended at a dead end on Old Niskayuna Road near Albany International Airport.

According to CBS 6 Albany, Alradee refused to exit his vehicle and allegedly fought with deputies during the arrest. A deputy was injured in the struggle and received treatment on the scene from Colonie EMS personnel. Alradee faces multiple charges, including assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle.

The Albany County Sheriff's Office reports that Alradee was taken to Albany County Correctional Facility as a pre-arraigned detainee. He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Town of Colonie Court at a later date. Sheriff Craig D. Apple Sr. confirmed the charges and details of the incident in a statement.
