The number of flu cases in the region has decreased slightly, according to the latest data. Despite the decline, the flu remains a significant concern. During the week ending March 1, Albany County reported the highest number of new cases with 198, followed by Saratoga County with 189, and Rensselaer County with 108.

Health experts continue to stress the importance of good hygiene practices and getting a flu shot as the best methods for protection against the flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has noted that while hospital demand for respiratory illnesses like COVID-19, flu, and RSV was lower than in previous seasons, influenza activity remains high in many areas.
