The 2025 Albany Tulip Festival is fast approaching, and nominations are now open for the prestigious title of Tulip Queen. Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years old and demonstrate community outreach goals, team building, and leadership skills. The winner will be announced during the Tulip Festival in May and will receive a $5,000 scholarship.

The Tulip Queen serves as Albany's Ambassador for a year, engaging in volunteer projects, including the Literacy Campaign, which promotes reading to children. The Queen and her court collaborate with the United Way to establish a trust fund for future Queens to award grants to local literacy organizations. Each court member receives a $1,500 scholarship.

Nominees will participate in a series of interviews, with finalists announced in early May. The coronation ceremony will take place on Tulip Festival Saturday. Nominations are open until April 18, and more information is available on the Albany Events website.
