Albany police are treating the death of 24-year-old Jamier Allen as a homicide. Allen's body was discovered on Wednesday (March 26) afternoon in a wooded area near Boneau Street, Albany, New York. He had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and body.

The investigation began after a heavy police presence was reported near the end of Boneau Street, where officers blocked off a cul-de-sac for several hours. According to CBS6 Albany, local resident Sohna Jobe, who has lived in the neighborhood since childhood, expressed surprise at the incident, noting that the area is typically quiet and family-oriented.

Jobe, a nursing student, returned home from an exam to find the area filled with police and expressed concerns about the broader issue of gun violence in the community. The investigation into Allen's death is ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
