Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello announced the details of Operation Refresh, a city-wide initiative to clean and rejuvenate the Collar City, starting Monday (April 14). The operation will involve street cleaning, deep cleaning of alleyways, and revitalizing city parks. Residents are encouraged to place leaves and debris in piles on the curb for collection. The full schedule is available online at troyny.gov.

Mayor Mantello emphasized the community's role in maintaining a clean city, stating, "Building pride in our city is not possible without safe and clean streets, neighborhoods, and community spaces." The Quality-of-Life Action Crews will conduct the cleaning, with 'no parking' signs posted the day before scheduled cleanings.

In addition to regular cleaning efforts, the city will offer free bulk trash drop-offs at the Alamo on Friday (April 11) and Saturday (May 3) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Restrictions apply to certain items, and entry can be denied at these events.

Residents are also invited to participate in Earth Week from April 21 to April 27, which includes various cleanup events across the city. For more information on Earth Week activities, visit troyny.gov/Earth-Day.
