St. Peter's Hospital in Albany will begin the removal of several water cooling towers from its roof starting Saturday (April 19). This project, expected to conclude by Saturday (April 26), involves setting up a crane near the Main Entrance off South Manning Boulevard. Despite the construction, the hospital has assured that traffic flow in the surrounding neighborhoods will remain unaffected. Both parking garages and the Main Entrance will stay open, but traffic on campus will be temporarily adjusted to ensure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors. Wayfinding signs and security staff will assist in navigating the campus during this period, according to CBS 6 Albany.
The hospital has planned these modifications carefully to minimize disruption. The project is part of ongoing improvements in the area, which include the Manning Boulevard Improvement Project, aiming to enhance pedestrian and vehicular access.
